When DriftBox diagnostic mode is active the RS232 serial port outputs NMEA standard format GPS information. This makes it directly compatible for use as GPS input to mapping software programs for navigation use.
The NMEA serial cable plugs into the port on the back of DriftBox and has a standard 9-way D plug at its end for connection to a suitably equipped laptop or PDA.
DriftBox also transmits live data on its serial port when it is in Drift Practice Mode. Any other devices with a serial input, such as a video overlay unit, can use this data. The telemetry/overlay serial cable plugs into the port on the back of DriftBox and has a standard 9-way D plug at its end for connection to suitable equipment. This cable is also supplied with the Telemetry Kit.
There are two types of serial cables:
RLCAB040: NMEA messages only
RLCAB044: Telemetry output only |
